Princess Diana made heartbreaking prediction about Queen Camilla – and it came true
Princess Diana once made a heartbreaking prediction about Queen Camilla which turned out to be true, a royal expert has claimed. The Queen shouldered much of the blame for King Charles and the late Princess of Wales’s marriage breakdown. But it was one particular conversation Diana had with one royal correspondent, which carried quite a significance.
Jennie Bond, who’s got years of experience covering the Royal Family, has previously revealed a conversation she had with Diana at Kensington Palace, before the royal’s infamous 1995 Panorama interview with Martin Bashir. Ms Bond spoke about how Diana opened up about the difficult details of her marriage to Prince Charles, as well as his long-term infidelity and noted the royal’s way of speaking about Camilla.
She told OK! about Diana’s prediction: “For Camilla, it really has been the most incredible journey, but, at its root, it is a simple love story between two people caught up in a very complex situation. “I often think back to the day I sat with Diana in her drawing room and she told me that she recognised that Camilla always had been, and always would be, the love of Charles’s life. “She said she recognised that any marriage that Charles might have made would not have been as strong as his relationship with Camilla.”
The royal expert went on to explain how Diana described her love rival as “loyal and discreet and deserving of some form of recognition”. She added: “All these years on, I think Diana’s words have proved to be completely accurate.”
It comes as Queen Camilla has proved to be a pillar of strength for the monarch who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. The Queen has stepped up for the monarchy, attending several royal engagements during the King’s short break.
