♚ The eldest daughter of Prince Albert, Duke of York and Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, she was also the first granddaughter of King George V

♚ She was baptised Elizabeth Alexandra Mary. after her mother; after her great-grandmother, Queen Alexandra; and after her paternal grandmother. Within her family, she was known as LIlibet

♚ She had only one sibling, Princess Margaret Rose, later the Countess of Snowdon

♚ At the age of 10, the unexpected abdication of Elizabeth’s uncle, King Edward VIII, made her the heir presumptive

♚ She married her third cousin, Philip Mountbatten (born Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark) in 1947. The couple had four children : Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward

♚ On 8 Sep 2015, she surpassed her 2nd great-grandmother and became the longest reigning monarch. On 6 Feb 2017 she became the first British monarch to celebrate a Sapphire Jubilee, commemorating 65 years on the throne.

♚ She was known as a dog lover, who had over thirty corgis since her succession. She was also known as a lover of horseback riding. She was sometimes spotted riding on the horseback leisurely on the ground of Windsor Castle

♚ She passed away on 8 September 2022 at Balmoral Castle, Scotland, aged 96, and was succeeded by her eldest son, Charles. In that year, she had also celebrated her Platinum Jubilee, and was the first British monarch in history to do so
