Prince William Shares a Rare Update on Kate Middleton as She Undergoes Cancer Treatment
Will made an appearance in honor of the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
“An honour to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day this week, starting today in Portsmouth. For the incredible bravery of the Allied veterans we say thank you – we owe our freedom to heroes like you,” read a joint Instagram post shared by both Will and Kate’s account and King Charles’ account.
He mentioned Kate at the event.
While talking to World War II veterans in Portsmouth, one asked William if Kate was “getting any better.”
He responded, “She is getting better, yes. She would have loved to be here today.”
He also talked about Kate’s family ties to D-Day.
As Glamour reported, Will told veteran Geoffrey Weaving that Kate had discovered her grandmother had served — but not until the end of her grandmother’s life.
“I was reminding everyone how her grandmother served at Bletchley, so she had quite a bit in common with some of the ladies here who were at Bletchley,” he said. “They never spoke about anything until the very end — it was all very secret.”

It could be a while before we see Kate in public again.
Earlier this week, a royal source told Us Weekly that Kate and her team have been busy “reevaluating what she’s going to be able to take on when she comes back.”
“She may never come back in the role that people saw her in before,” the source said, later adding that Will and Kate have “been reconnecting and are closer than ever.”

Fingers crossed for another update on Kate soon.
This is undoubtedly a stressful, scary time for their family — especially with King Charles fighting a cancer battle of his own at the same time. Here’s hoping Kate’s treatment continues to go well so Will has more good news to share soon.
