Video of Princess Diana’s meeting with “Mr. Bean” in 1984 touched the network
Memories of the British Princess Diana, the former wife of King Charles III and mother of Princes William and Harry, still resonate painfully in the souls of those who knew her. Almost every forgotten video that pops up online becomes popular and touches users who have been grieving for her for decades. This is what happened with the archival footage from 1984.
The camera captured the moment when Lady Dee met with actor Rowan Atkinson, who later became famous for his character of “Mr. Bean.” The video was posted on Instagram with historical footage.
Almost 40 years ago, on November 19, the then Princess of Wales arrived at the Royal Variety Performance in London. She was accompanied by her husband Charles and the Queen.
Before the show, the royal family personally greeted the actors, including Atkinson. He waited patiently for the princess to approach and was visibly nervous.
When Lady Dee stood in front of him with a bouquet, the actor showed her his trembling hands, and she encouraged him with a laugh and a funny gesture.
Some experts interpret it as a sign that the princess recognized Atkinson and hinted to him that she was a fan of the actor’s work. They talked some more until the wife of the future king went to her seat.
On one page alone, the video has garnered almost 100 thousand likes, and many other social networks and profiles posted this footage. Under almost every post, people express their sadness over the death of the princess.
