Today marks her first public appearance since Trooping the Colour last month
Princess Kate has once again returned to the public eye to make an elegant appearance at Wimbledon.
As she continues to undergo treatment for cancer, the Princess of Wales ventured out to sit courtside for the men’s singles finals between Carlos Alcaraz and Novac Djokovic. She arrived with two surprise guests: her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister, Pippa Middleton.
Wimbledon tends to be one of the most highly-anticipated events for fashion, and today was no exception. Kate embraced courtside style with a royal purple dress from British brand Safiyaa. The gown featured a twist of fabric at the bust and a cascading A-line skirt. The Princess of Wales accessorized with a small tan handbag with gold hardware, and added some shimmer to her look with gold cuff bracelets and matching drop earrings.
Everything We Know So Far About Princess Kate’s Cancer Diagnosis
Kate’s public appearances have been few and far between since the beginning of this year following her abdominal surgery in January and the unexpected news of her cancer diagnosis in March. With the exception of paparazzi photos and controversial royal portraits, the princess didn’t publicly resurface until she made an official appearance at Trooping the Colour in June. She confirmedher attendance for the ceremonial event the day before.
“I’m looking forward to attending the King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet,” she wrote in a personal letter released by Kensington Palace at the time.
Although the royal has not specified what type of cancer she has or what stage it has progressed to, Kate offered rare insight into her recovery process in the note: “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.
