Nobody was able to recognize Sandra Bullocks son… Until now
Of all the roles she has ever played, including those which brought her plenty of awards and nominations, actress Sandra Bullock is proudest of her role of a mother
The Blind Side star became a mother later in life when she adopted son Louis in 2010 and daughter Laila in 2015.
Reaching her forties, Bullock didn’t think she would ever have kids, but an event made her think about her life and whether or not she wanted to become a mother. According to the actress, she experienced epiphany when hurricane Katrina struck and an inner voice told her that her children were in New Orleans. Without hesitating, she headed there and filled adoption papers. Some four years later, she could finally adopt her son Louis
“I looked at him and said, ‘Oh, there you are.’ It’s like he’d always been there. He fit in the crook of my arm, he looked me in the eyes, and he was just wise,” she said of the time she laid eyes on her son.
Louis is now all grown up. Speaking of him, the Oscar-winning actress says “Lou is super sensitive. He’s like Shecky Greene, a Jewish Catskills comic. He’s wise and kind. I saw that when they handed him to me. There was a spiritual bigness to him. I was like, ‘I hope I don’t eff that up.’”
In a November 2021 interview on Red Table Talk, Bullock candidly told Willow Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris that she sometimes wishes she and her children had shared the same skin.
“To say that I wish our skins matched, sometimes I do. Because then, it would be easier on how people approach us,” Bullock said. “And I have the same feelings as a woman with brown skin and her babies or a white woman with white babies.”
Bullock is co-parenting her children with boyfriend Bryan Randall. A source told Closer, “He is completely dedicated to Sandra and the children, and she is aware of this
“The kids have called Bryan ‘Daddy’ for as long as I can remember, and it still makes him smile.”
Bullock is an incredible mother and her children are fortunate to have her in their lives.
