Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton’s Battle Over Blue Dresses and What a Staffer Is Saying Now
There’s reportedly been at battle brewing about when some royal ladies, like the Princess of Wales, can and can’t wear a certain color. Now, Queen Camilla’s dressmaker is implementing a change.
The colors of the clothing worn by royal women became a hot topic after Meghan Markle claimed in her and Prince Harry’s Netflix docuseries that she couldn’t wear the same colors as more senior family members.
During a confessional in episode three of the program, the former Suits star recalled: “Most of the time that I was in the U.K. I rarely wore color. To my understanding, you can’t ever wear the same color as Her Majesty if there’s a group event. But then you also should never be wearing the same color as one of the other more senior members of the family.”
Following what the duchess said, the royals seemed to debunk that by wearing the same colors to a holiday carol service at Westminster Abbey, and several fans began posting pictures online of Meghan wearing bright colors while she was a working royal. But now, a reported dispute over a popular color between Queen Camilla (formerly known as Camilla Parker Bowles) and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) is proving that at least sometimes, royal ladies can’t wear the same color.
Queen Camilla’s dresser changes up rule about wearing a certain color
The color that has reportedly caused a stir in the royal household is blue. A source told Express that the color “is particularly problematic for the senior royals’ dressers because it’s a favorite of both Camilla and Kate.”
The source said: “The queen is now able to choose her outfits before all the other women in the royal family. It’s part of the royal pecking order and that includes the clothes and color. Her Majesty’s favorite colour is blue and so is Kate’s. Sophie is also quite fond of it.”
The insider explained that Camilla’s dresser Jacqui Meakin, who took over after the late Queen Elizabeth Il’s dresser Angela Kelly, came up with an idea that she thinks will solve any future problems over wearing the color.
“There was a time when Jacqui was a bit apprehensive to allow blue to be worn at the same time as the queen, but
she’s relaxed that now as long as the blues are very different shades,” the source revealed. “In the end, it all became a bit comical with all the ladies seeing the funny side.”
Expert says Kate has been influenced by Camilla’s style’,

Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He shared that blue “is a superhero color for confidence, and also considered to be the color of communication and openness .. It’s all about
calmness and communication.”
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, Stanton explained: “Camilla is not afraid of pushing the boat out so [she] tends to wear an array of colors. When she is attending formal events, she will usually wear white but we have seen her wearing blues and reds and very deep purples as well … She likes to surprise people and stand out, not so much to be the center of attention but she makes certain
statements with her clothing so it tends to be quite unpredictable.”
The expert also thinks that some of Kate’s fashion choices may be
“influenced” by her stepmother-in-law’s noting that both women
“favor reds, blues, and purples. So Kate could have been influenced by Camilla. It’s clear from their body language that
they do have a very strong relationship with one another and Kate has a genuine deep connection with Camilla so could have been inspired by her style choices.”
