She’s a knockout! Jennifer Lopez raises a sweat as she films boxing scenes for TV show Shades of Blue
But Jennifer Lopez showed she’s not just a pretty face as she filmed boxing scenes for her TV show Shades of Blue on Friday.
The 47-year-old was spotted at a Manhattan boxing club working up a sweat as the pugilistic Detective Harlee Santos in the police procedural.
Ready to rumble: Jennifer Lopez donned a pair of boxing gloves and raised a sweat while shooting scenes for her TV show Shades of Blue on Friday in Manhattan
The actress and singer was dressed in a gray tank top over a black bra and black leggings for the shoot.
Her upper body glistened with sweat as she sported a huge pair of black boxing gloves.
With her hair tied back from her face and minimal make-up, the star was clearly in fighting mood.
Focused: With her hair tied back from her face and sweat glistening on her upper body, the actress and singer, 47, focused on the task at hand
Hands on: Crew members checked that everything was in order and the star was protected as JLo donned the gloves
Ready for a fight: Jennifer appeared to have bulked up a little for her role as the anti-corruption informant detective Harlee Santos in the NBC police procedural
In the NBC series, which she also produces, JLo plays a single mother and seemingly corrupt member of a team of Brooklyn lawmen led by Ray Liotta’s sleazy Lt. Matt Wozniak.
But in a twist, her character is actually working as an informant for the force’s anti-corruption unit.
Speaking about the ambiguous nature of the show at a Television Academy event this summer, she said: ‘We know that certain things are wrong.’
‘But in certain situations, doing the wrong thing is the right thing. It’s about that internal struggle that every single person has.’
Regrouping: Jennifer took a breather in between scenes that were filmed at a boxing club in the Big Apple
Jennifer’s star power was enough to get the show renewed, despite lackluster ratings, and due to stiff competition on other channels was one of the most time-shifted programs on television.
When the renewal was announced NBC’s entertainment president Jennifer Salke said: ‘We want to thank Jennifer, who is the hardest-working woman we know, for her incredible efforts as both the star and producer of this show.’
Season two of Shades Of Blue is scheduled to hit screens midseason.
Has clout: In renewing Shades Of Blue for a second season, NBC described the star as ‘the hardest-working woman we know’
