Kate Middleton’s star ‘not shining as bright as usual’ says commentator – but Princess ‘remains most important royal’
Princess Kate’s star is “not shining as bright as usual”, however she “remains the most important royal”, a
commentator has said.
Arthur Edwards, a royal photographer, praised Kate for her endless dedication to the monarchy despite her recent health struggles. The Princess of Wales was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer earlier this year.
He praised her two public appearances since stepping down as a working royal whilst she focuses on her treatment.
Earlier this month, she made her second public appearance when she attended the men’s singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Prior to that, she made her long-awaited return to public facing duties on June 15, when she attended Trooping the Colour.
Speaking to The Sun, Edwards said: “The two days l’ve seen her and pictures of her, she was sparkling and I hope the treatment is working, and we see her back in full harness later in the year.
“She’s the most important member of the royal family.
She’s the star, and the star has just not been shining as bright as it normally does.”
Edwards, who has photographed seven royal weddings, seven royal births, and four funerals, said: “When you’re working with her you’re enthused, because she’s just glorious, she always engages with people, when she goes to the rugby club she plays rugby, when she goes back to her old school she play hockey with the kids.
“When we were in Ireland a few years ago she was playing Gallic games, hurling just an amazing lady, a bit like the late Princess Diana. Everything she does she does properly. This woman is the complete package.” A

Earlier this week, the Royal Foundation announced that Kate and William would launch the “Baby Bank Alliance” – a network of over 300 repositories for “essential items for babies and children”.
In a social media statement announcing the move, the charity, of which Will and Kate are patrons, talked up the Princesses’ visits to several of the banks up and down the country in which she “highlighted their crucial work in supporting families”.
It said: “Over the past few years, the Princess of Wales has visited several baby banks to highlight their crucial work in supporting families with babies and young children.
“Organisations like baby banks play a vital role in helping to give parents and carers the capacity to provide the nurturing care which is so important to babies and young children.
“Today we’re delighted to see the launch of the Baby Bank Alliance, a community of over 300 baby banks supporting families, babies and children in the UK with access to the supplies and clothing that they need to thrive.
“Our relationships, experiences, and surroundings in our earliest years lay the foundations that shape the rest of
our lives.
“Supporting parents and carers, who are doing their best to provide for their families in incredibly challenging circumstances, is essential and can have a life-changing impact.”
