AS she makes her return to the spotlight after more than two years in hiding, Susan Boyle has had a change of heart about the man she has long tried to woo . . . Piers Morgan.
“He’s been a wonderful support over the years and I would like to think he would still continue to support me now.”
Susan was speaking to me from Hollywood this week, as she prepares to return to telly in a big way on Simon Cowell’s new championship version of Got Talent for US TV, scotching speculation that she had quit the industry for ever.
SuBo says of her break: “Well, I’ve been out of the spotlight for a while, but that was my decision.
“I’ve done a few performances over the past couple of years, mostly in Scotland.
“But to be given the opportunity to perform on America’s Got Talent: Champions is fantastic and I’m not nervous, I’m excited.
“I’ve spent the past couple of years growing up, learning how to deal with the nerves, I’ve lost a bit of weight and I’m ready to come back with a bang.”
In fact, she rubbishes rumours of hanging up her microphone any time soon.
Susan, who has used her LA trip to visit Simon’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, right, says: “I just want people to see that there’s still life in Susan Boyle yet!
“I’m not ready for retirement and I’ve worked incredibly hard to grow as an artist, improve my voice and become more comfortable in my own skin.
“The old Susan Boyle has grown up, well she needed to, and now I’m back and raring to go.”
SuBo isn’t worried about coming up against her boss Simon again, saying: “He’s not Mr Nasty at all.”He’s a pussycat and I can’t wait to show him the new and improved Susan.”
And as the most famous ever runner-up on a talent competition, Susan has one goal this time around: “You know I’ve entered many competitions before I went on Britain’s Got Talent and never won, I came second on Britain’s Got Talent . . . so you never know I might actually win this!”
